I recently sat down with Ande, the counselor at Assurance- a state licensed medical clinic in Lexington, KY (part of a nationwide network).
According to their website, "Assurance Care Center has been serving women and men in the Central Kentucky area since 1985. We are a non-profit organization, offering confidential, respectful and compassionate care to anyone facing an unplanned pregnancy or the after-effects of abortion. We are a state-licensed medical center, committed to giving accurate information in a caring and private atmosphere. We want each person to be free to discuss their options and sexual health without feeling judged or coerced."
As soon as Ande greeted me at the door we were instant friends. She is so warm, she put me at ease right away. We really connected because we are both huge believers in professional counseling. With 1 out of 4 women under 30 getting an abortion, counseling is an important resource. We both want girls to know they are not alone.
So, sweet readers, if you are facing an unwanted pregnancy or are post-abortive, you are not alone. Ande, and all of the counselors in the nationwide network, offer free counseling because they care about you. They don't want anything in return, they just love supporting women. No strings attached.
