Some days are just plain awful. You know the days, the ones where you swear your life could be a reality show of unfortunate events. At least then somebody would be entertained by your misfortune.
Much to our dismay, not every day can be full of roses and butterflies, but that doesn’t mean our attitude has to reflect our circumstances. We shouldn’t let a series of bad events determine how we are going to behave. We get to choose joy! We get to choose to keep it positive. We may not always feel joyful, but we can certainly rise above our circumstances and give those awful, no good, rotten days a run for their money!
Always be joyful. Never stop praying. Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.-1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
Choosing joy, or keeping it positive, is not easy. It’s a discipline. You have to intentionally seek it out, but it is always worth it! Below are three great verses to help you stay positive on those no good, terrible days.
And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. -Philippians 4:8
I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world. -John 16:33
The light shines in the darkness, for the darkness has never overpowered it.-1 John 1:5
