Our culture is obsessed with beauty. We’ll drop $100 on products “guaranteed” to make us look younger, thinner, or blonder. With media constantly pointing out people’s flaws, it’s no wonder we’ve forgotten what true beauty really is.
Real beauty can’t be purchased; it can’t be put on or taken off; it’s not a number, size, or age. You are beautiful, not because of the way you look, but because of who made you. You’re already beautiful because you were made by God. Your heart was fashioned by the same God who calls the stars by name and holds the ocean in His hands. There’s nothing you can do to become more worthy of love.
God already decided you are worthy by sending His Son to die for you. So, the next time you’re tempted to look in the mirror and count all the things you don’t like, remember that God doesn’t see flaws; He simply sees His creation. He looks at you and says, “It is good.” Here are three verses to remind you that you are already beautiful.
So God created human beings in His own image. In the image of God He created them. - Genesis 1:27
This is how the holy women of old made themselves beautiful. They put their trust in God. - 1 Peter 3:5
You are altogether beautiful, my darling; there is no flaw in you. - Song of Songs 4:7
