Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. - Philippians 1:6
“So what are your plans for after college?” The dreaded question that a very large majority of college students don’t really have an answer to.
I don’t know about you, but entering into the “real world” is a pretty scary thought for me. I couldn't even tell you my weekend plans, nonetheless my plans for the future. I often feel unprepared for “adulting” with a full time job, bills I’ve never had to pay before, and new commitments. I can very easily stress myself out with thoughts of the future running around in my head and a big question mark being the answer to most of my questions.
When our future is just a stressful mystery, we often forget about who already has a perfect plan for us…God! I believe not allowing ourselves to plan our future, and leaving it up to God is the best investment for our future. If you’re too focused on the future, you could miss the plans God has for you right now! So my dear sisters, live in the present and listen for the plans God has for you each and every day. When the big questions about your future scare you, simply turn to the One who has a plan for you, already complete, and find perfect peace in that. You are strong, capable, and worthy of great things.
1. How do you usually address any stress or anxiety about your future? How could you turn to God more in those moments?
2. What are some verses that point you to God's truth about your life and future? (Hint: If you can’t think of any look some up!)
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank You for this beautiful life You have blessed me with, and I also want to thank You for the mystery. In times of uncertainty I am so thankful that I can turn to You and find peace in the plan that is unfolding in my life. I pray that I continually seek out Your will for my life and always have a spirit full of joy and trust in the plans You have for me. Amen.
