“Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.” -Hebrews 11:1
I’m sure you’ve heard the saying “walk by faith” at some point, which is great advice…but what does it actually mean? In my life, walking by faith means that in every step I take, every trial I endure, every difficult choice I make, every encounter I have, and in every season, I trust my Father. I trust that He has a marvelous plan for my life, I trust that He will always be my rock, I trust that He loves me with an everlasting love, and I trust that He is walking by my side always.
Now is this easier said than done? Absolutely. Our faithfulness can be tested and hard to stay firm in, but we must place our trust in what we do not see. We walk by faith and not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7) when we are following God. We must learn to trust that God has our best in mind in all areas of our lives. Have faith that our Creator has a plan for your life even when it can be hard to see.
Do you feel shattered after a terrible breakup? Have faith that God is preparing you for someone even better suited for you.
Did you not get the job you wanted? Have faith that God wants you to have make an impact elsewhere.
Were you hurt by a good friend? Have faith that God will comfort you and carry you through the process of healing.
Have faith that our God who can move mountains and calm any storm is preparing you for wonderful things, and that He is beside you in every step as you walk in faith.
1. In what areas of your life do you have a hard time having faith that God wants the best for you?
2. How can you increase your faithfulness in your life? What actions can you take?
3. Where have you seen God be faithful in your life?
Thank You for Your unfailing love that You shower on me day after day. I pray that I learn to walk by faith in all areas of my life, trusting in You every step I take. Let me open every single part of my heart to You and trust that Your plans are so much greater than I could ever imagine. Amen.
