Now the Lord is the spirit and where the spirit of the Lord is there is freedom.
- 2 Corinthians 3:17
There have been specific seasons and periods of time in my life where I experienced anything but freedom. I have been bound to unhealthy relationships, intense commitments, toxic friendships, and negative situations that made me feel bound and chained. There have been times where I forgot completely what freedom means and looks like in my life. It can be so easy to let things of this world in the “here and now” weigh you down and block you from seeking and living in freedom. We live for things of this world that wear us down and cause us to forget about the beautiful promises the Lord has for us.
Sisters, you can take every step in this life on a path of freedom. The Lord has made a way for you and wants you to walk on this path with Him each and every day. When you discover who you are in the Lord, you experience complete freedom. He says you are valuable, dearly loved, made for and with a purpose, treasured, forgiven, and redeemed. If you believe those truths, how could you not walk in the light of freedom each day? When this life brings you down, don’t forget who you are and whose you are. He has His hand out, waiting for you to grasp it and walk on a path of freedom with Him.
1. What things in your life are keeping you from experiencing freedom? How can you seperate yourself from them?
2. What does freedom look like in your life?
Lord, thank You so much for loving me and seeking me out continually. You are my Creator and the One who knows my heart more than anyone on this earth. You see all my desires, hopes, fears, and struggles in this life and offer me complete freedom to bask in. I pray to identify what holds me back from Your freedom and to separate myself from it with Your guidance. Thank You for Your promises and Your heart after me. Amen.
