Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. - Matthew 6:33
Did you know how much you are treasured and loved by the King of Kings?
I know it’s February, and we all know what special day comes in February. But don’t let that day trip you up. You are loved. You are treasured. In Jesus, you are redeemed. And you are free to be the girl He called you to be.
Do you know what that means? It means that as a daughter of the Most High, you really don’t have any reason to worry about anything. It means God has your back. He knows what’s good and what isn’t. And this means less stress for you.
I remember years ago back in college… it’s been almost a little over ten years now. Time flies! Anyway, college. A freshman who didn’t have the slightest clue in the world in the world, yet at the same time… I HAD TO HAVE MY LIFE FIGURED OUT. You know. What career? Who will I marry? What if I don’t get married? Is this college even the right college? Because every girl has to have their life figured out at ages eighteen and nineteen, correct? Girl, no.
Let me just tell you. Don’t worry, don’t stress. Focus on the King. Keep your heart and eyes on Jesus. Because He is the author and finisher of our faith and He knows what is best. And don’t feel like, just because you might be age nineteen or whatever, and maybe you don’t know what God wants or has for you, that something is wrong. God will lead you. He will show you, and He will take care of you.
I want to encourage you right now! Focus on cultivating a healthy relationship with God right now. Read your Bible! Join a ladies’ group in your church! Journal! Learn to write a devotional or use a talent that He gave you to further His kingdom! A healthy relationship with Christ sets the tone for every single relationship in your life currently and the ones that come later in life. God created us for relationships. But most specifically, a relationship with Him! So why not enjoy it?
Be encouraged, dear sister!
1. In what ways can you choose to trust God in this season?
2. Do you find yourself worrying? Don’t! Cling to Matthew 6. Try writing out verse 33 and posting it to your mirror or somewhere else you'll see it when your heart starts to wonder or worry.
Dear Lord, Your ways are always perfect and so much better than mine! Help me to rest, knowing that You have the best plan for me and that it will unfold in Your perfect timing. Amen.
