And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.
- Philippians 4:19 (NIV)
With the last few months of focusing on EVEN MORE than we can imagine with God, job loss or job insecurity have been present in the world.
When it came to my season of job insecurity, I had several different questions come to my mind:
What is happening? Why me?
What is wrong with me? Am I not good enough for _______ company?
Where is God in this low season?
I have been out of school for 6 months now and still have not been able to find a job in my career field. I have been applying to job after job, and still nothing came back with even an interview! It was so frustrating and discouraging to read another rejected email!
That’s when those negative thoughts and questions above come flooding in my head. But, a small light comes in too. So tiny I sometimes miss it.
For me, God and Jesus talk to me in a small voice that comes in for a moment, during all the chaos, and gives me exactly what I need to hear. This time, He was telling me that His plans were for good and not to hurt me (Jeremiah 29:11).
God will meet my needs! He is my provider and is your provider too! This characteristic of God is so amazing! Through getting let go from the company you have been with for years, getting fired due to unfortunate circumstances, graduating from college with your degree only to find nothing in your career field, or a pandemic, God will provide you with what you need and EVEN MORE.
He will “meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:19 NIV).
1. When have you experienced job loss or insecurity?
2. How did God provide for you?
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank You so much for Your love for us! I pray for those in the season of job loss or job insecurity, that You will remind them that You will provide what they need. I pray You will give them opportunities for jobs, for the needs they are needing now. Lord, I pray that You will continue to look out for Your children.
In Your name,
