His Resurrection; Our Hope

All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is by his great mercy that we have been born again, because God raised Jesus Christ from the dead. Now we live with great expectation.
- 1 Peter 1:3 NLT
The greatest story of all time went from devastation and extreme heartbreak of what was the end, to a never-seen-before type of jubilation as Jesus introduced a new beginning. One where unshakeable faith diminished doubt and despair.
I can imagine being there; walking up to the tomb that was now empty, then turning to see the shock on Mary’s face when she found out that nothing but linen wrappings lay in the tomb where Jesus, her son, should’ve been. Stuck in awe and frozen with unbelief, because Jesus did what no man could ever do. Suddenly, everything Jesus had spoken about and shared had now been cemented and validated as true.
In 1 Corinthians 15:3-4, a few words stood out to me as I read and re-read the words that follow “according to the scriptures.” This just highlights how much life the words in the Bible have and confirms the sacrifice Jesus made for me. How much more hopeful I can be now when everything looks dim and gloomy. When it looks like I am reaching what seems to be a dead-end in my eyes, yet His death on the cross shouted it is finished. But little did the enemy know that those words also meant that there was room for God to do a new thing.
His resurrection is the definition of overcoming all things in this life. It is the moment that all darkness ceases to win because of His light and power and that same light and power resides in me also. His resurrection brings about a new hope that is not found in our strength, in the way we strive daily or the things in which we do right. Our hope is built and found by the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
The One who defied death,
Can break your insurmountable obstacle.
For He has a thing of,
Making the impossible, possible.
1. Consider the Bible verse at the beginning, “…because God raised Jesus Christ from the dead. Now we live with great expectation.” How should this message transform the way we think and look at life?
2. Because of Jesus’ resurrection and the power, what truth can you believe and hold on to today?
Father, I thank You for Your resurrection. A story of Your sacrificial love that transcends anything and everything. That Your resurrection has a power that even the enemy can’t take away in me too. May I have the boldness to walk in faith and hope that has been founded by You. Amen.
