The Battle is Real...

Jesus didn’t just die on the cross to forgive us of our sins, He also rose from the grave, defeating death and claiming victory for all believers everywhere. We enter the battlefield everyday already on the winning team. The question is, are we fighting like it?

Satan's general goal is to render us ineffective in growing the Kingdom of God, to get us to a place where he has weakened our influence for the Lord. For the most part, he isn’t trying to convince us not to believe in God. He knows that's too arduous of a battle to start with. So he gets to know us, devises a plan, and sets his traps. Every day he pokes at the same fears. His tactics are specific, and his strategies are individualized.

The realities of satan are scary for our human minds. God understands those fears, which is why so often in His word He commands us to choose courage, to not be afraid, and to remember that He is with us wherever we go (Joshua 1:9).

God goes before us and fights on our behalf (Deuteronomy 31:8). We don't have to be afraid because there are more fighters on our side than on satan’s (2 Kings 6:16). We are released to fight like victors, because through Christ that is what we are. So, will we armor up and fight the good fight (1 Timothy 6:12), keeping satan in his place and showing this world who the real King is?
